Skellig: Bio

Skellig performs music from Ireland, French Canada, Scandinavia and beyond. Members Rachel Clark and Bob DeMarco of the band Wind that Shakes the Barley join John Drury, a veteran of the Quebecois and New England folk scene, blending their talents as a trio delivering traditional music with a rich and tantalizing flavor.

Rachel Clark

Flute, whistles, accordion, piano, vocals

Rachel is from a family rich in music. Both her mom and dad play professionally as classical musicians. Rachel lived in Sweden as a child and was drawn to Celtic music in her teens. Rachel is also a member of Wind that Shakes the Barley and Blackbird.

Bob DeMarco

Fiddle, guitar, cittern, piano, vocals

Bob’s mom came originally from County Limerick, Ireland and inspired his love for Celtic music. When he was a boy, she frequently sang in Gaelic and loved to play the fiddle and piano. Bob plays the fiddle, guitar, cittern and piano. Bob is also a member of Wind that Shakes the Barley and Blackbird.

John Drury

Guitar, Cittern, Vocals

John is a veteran of the Quebecois and New England Folk Scenes.  Born in Barre, VT, John began playing the guitar at the age of 5. He became highly proficient on electric guitar during the 1970's and then as an adult perfected his unique style of acoustic guitar. Nurtured by his late wife Martha Pellerin’s love of her Quebecois family songs, they performed together promoting Franco-American culture.
